Some common questions, by no means an exhaustive list, feel free to ask us questions. We may know the answer, and even add it to the list!
I'd like to talk to somebody there before I join?
When we first started, we made it a point to get back to everybody that emailed, and you may find it hard to believe because I know that I did, it's about one out of 100, for every hundred people that you communicate with, only one will actually pay and join, and that was way back at the introductory rate of 133 per year. Pretty abysmal numbers. And it's easy to spend about a half an hour or much more emailing back and forth with someone, and that adds up to over 50 hours, spend and essentially wasted since you won't see anything from it.
Once a person actually takes the initiative to pay and join, then we know that they're serious and we're more than happy to communicate back and forth, and we always get back to members.
Moreover, we find if a person needs a lot of guidance to decide whether or not to join, they probably won't be happy here since they would probably require more structure or supervision like at a traditional resort, we primarily offer freedom, responsible adventurous people is what we are seeking for membership.
Our website offers much more detailed information than most nudist places, we even have a referral page for other nudist places, I don't know if anyone that does that. We've tried to give people enough information that we think should be adequate to make an informed decision.
Women will commonly wear wraps, I don't recall any men wearing wraps, but I have seen a few in toga's, both are practical choices for the environment since you can easily switch to nude and back.
Occasionally swimsuits or bikinis. I don't believe I've seen anybody in a speedo, so you can be the first. I do remember a dude that used to wear a thong, so I guess that's sort of a speedo. Occasionally a woman in a thong type bikini, a timeless classic that will never go out of style. (It's probably instinctual since men are attracted to the shape, it mimics the pubic triangle). It captures our primal instinct.
Half nudes, bottomless, or topless, but bottomless is actually more common. From my observation anyways. It only depends on the day and the people.
Wearing a towel is a viable option.
Street clothing, shorts and a t-shirt are common. If you're grappling with what to wear, shorts are a good option. If you happen to have a toga, go ahead and wear that.
Nudity of course is also common.
Short answer: NO this is not a swinger place.
There are places that specialize in that. Let your fingers do the walking and Google it.
That being said, we understand that nudists and swingers are often overlapping circles:
During an event we have a separate area designated for people having related interest. The subject is also mentioned on the rules page, our policy generally is out of sight and out of mind. That has worked well so far, in fact we haven't heard a single complaint.
In short, Membership requirement is the law, the Oasis 33 is structured as a private organization. In order for us to maintain the privilege to operate as a private organization we have to actually be a private organization, providing only Members access. Thus, persons interested in our purpose of nude recreation must first obtain a membership to enter the Oasis 33.
Moreover, we feel the membership requirement is a good bar to entry separating the curious from the serious. As such, we would require a Membership, even if membership were not required by law.
In theory, Oasis 33 could restructure itself as an open to the public facility but we would still require memberships to maintain a degree of harmony in the naked village, and since we don't have an interest in selling services to the general public, creating an open to the public facility would serve no purpose to our mission. As luck would have it, the private organization membership regulations and our goals are parallel paths.
Clothing freedom is just a Membership away.
The image is from a '80s TV show called Fantasy Island, a place where fantasies come true.
Fantasy Land Oasis is just like that! Hundreds of naked people, all the time, waiting for you, just to fulfill your fantasy.... Another thing both places have in common, neither one is real.
Oasis 33 Montana is a real place, perhaps stupidly on our part we built it in reality, permanently affixed to the real world, and the only people here are mere mortals.
We've been here a while and have heard all sorts of bizarre expectations. From men thinking it's a harem of sex starved pornstars, to retirement gentleman thinking this would be a good place to find a wife. Some thinking it doesn't get cold here during the winter, that's why we have 12 month memberships. To people coming in the middle of the week wondering why no one is there.... Maybe they are not here because they have to work for a living.... Obviously, the pornstars are working at the studio during the week.
If you want to come when there's a lot of people come during an event, if you want fewer people, come on the days before or after an event. But be realistic about your expectations. The people you meet here, are only a portion of the same people you see in the real world, albeit a higher concentration of less inhibited people here than the outside population. You will meet people that at least have a common interest in nude recreation.
You probably won't meet Debbie does Dallas nor Fabio, but you will meet real people, and they say anything is possible, so who knows strange things do have a tendency of happening here.
A place where bizarre fantasies come true?
Large RVs usually won't fit here, longer than 20 feet, the harder it gets... If you're a super trucker RV'r you might be able to squeeze in something longer, we have trees and narrow winding roads.
We have a few spots for large RVs at the main retreat... Let us know we will try to accommodate if possible. During events we sometimes have overflow areas. If so it's usually listed on the event.
Driven at very low turtle speed, 5mph max. Remember allot of people are walking and stepping out that are not paying attention. Pedestrians have the absolute right of way.
I recommend you join a free site like TrueNudist.com Learn about what it is and isn't. Remember every circumstance is unique.
Oasis 33 is clothing optional, so dress or undress to your comfort level.
Dispersed camping is an option if you want to come for an event after the campsites have filled. If you've taken this option we will have a spot for you, it just won't be a campsite, it'll be a wide spot in the road or a turnout, or a dead end road. We try to let people pick the spot they like if possible.
Drink responsibly! Driving under the influence to, from, or at the retreat is not permitted.
Nude is most common but a person is welcome to undress at their comfort level.
I won't give a percentage as to clothed and unclothed, it varies. People are going nude because that's what they want, so do whatever you want.
You can share campsites with others in your group. They only need to advance purchase a membership above.
Nearest services are 10 miles away. We supply a restroom an sun heated, outside shower. Bring everything you need: camp gear, sun shade, chairs, towels, etc.
Advanced purchased Memberships are required. You won't get through the gate without an Event Membership, No exceptions, you will be turned away.
We will contact you within a few days after you have paid to join the event. (We use the email address shown on your PayPal payment). We will give you our contact number and confirm your Event Membership Reservation. as well as the Retreat address and driving instructions.
We welcome competition, it would be great if someone made a nudist place better and cheaper, so far we are the only ones. More likely, nude recreation just isn't important enough to them to pay for it. If price is an issue, consider our memberships cover you and your domestic partner, I don't know of any place that does that. So you've already cut the membership cost in half. Our membership includes free camping, most places charge a membership fee and extra for each night of camping.
The deposit is not required for events.
Access members are given unsupervised access to private property, we want to make sure that they have some degree of skin in the game.
We had dirt cheap memberships no deposit, and we paid dearly for it, serious property damage, and criminal problems. The low cost, lack of financial impact to themselves invites problem people. Adults needing supervision is becoming a common problem.
The deposit and the pricing weeds out the problem people.
Fear of going nude is hands down, the number one concern disclosed to us. If you are in this camp you are not alone.
First off, we are clothing optional, nobody here is going to be paying attention to what you were wearing or not wearing. There is a mix of various states of dress. During an event or the day is surrounding it, a lot of different things are going on, some people just showed up and still have clothes on, others are getting ready to go to town, with clothes on, others are nude or partially nude just hanging out or walking around.
People tend to think of going nude as something like standing on a stage to be evaluated, it's not like that at all, you are in a mix of different people doing different things.
Truth is, it's a big place lots of people spread out nobody has a bird's eye view of everything going on. Nobody is concerned with what someone else is wearing or not wearing.
Most will tell you going nude isn't as difficult as one would think. I would agree, but that doesn't seem to lend much comfort to a person grappling with the fear of the unknown...
Perhaps your fear isn't the nudity as much as your instinct to avoid getting involved in a pressured situation. Rest assured, we don't pressure anyone here to go nude.
This is why we emphasize, dress or undress as you please.
People don't really ask this, they more or less tiptoe around the subject because they are curious.
We don't have any rules against talking politics, you can talk about whatever you want but prepare to have your position challenged. There has been a few explosive arguments stemming from political disagreements, so be aware of that.
By my observations through discussion with members here, I would say politics are divided into thirds, 1/3 seemingly indifferent to political ideologies. 1/3 being fairly strong Republican right wing. 1/3 being modest liberals. We even had one guy that was in admitted communist, he isn't around anymore, he was the one that stole the lawn chairs.
What about the politics of the people that own the place?
Trigger warning!:
We don't fit into any camp that I know of, I wish it were as simple as picking the right party, the root of the problem is the best place to start. If we look deep enough most problems are created, when people react to the problem, a solution is implemented that comes at a cost to the productive class. While the non-productive is generally the beneficiary.
Don't believe me, here's an example, the homeless drug addict encampments that seem to be popping up near many major cities. It creates a safety issue for the people who live there, increases theft, assault and various other crimes it strains local resources that are being paid for by productive people who pay taxes. Ask yourself where does this problem come from. Go ask the homeless people, most of them are being paid by some sort of government services usually a social security disability payment. That's where they get the money to buy the drugs. In short your government is funding the problem. The productive people are paying for it in two ways, by taxation and or monetary debasement by creating the currency, and paying for it again by funding the local infrastructure that has to deal with the problem. And you're paying for it again by diminished quality of life since you have to live nearby these drug infested homeless encampments funded by your government. And it's the same old playbook of disrupting society to create the problem, reaction, solution cycle that will always come at a cost to you.
Who is creating the problem of illegal immigration. They aren't coming here to open up a taco stand, at least the ones that are aren't the ones causing the problem. The problem is rooted in that when they get here they receive government programs, that are paid for by you, your government is creating the motivation influencing them to come here. And you are paying for that by both taxes and monetary debasement, and again to fund the local services to deal with the problem, not to mention your diminished quality of life I have to live within the problem. Again it's problem, reaction, and solution that comes at a cost to the productive class.
Drug smuggling, who's buying the drugs, I'm not, are you. Most of the people buying drugs, or at least with addictions are on some sort of government program. Again your government is funding the people who are creating the problem. And again we see the same problem, reaction, and solution that comes at a cost to the productive people.
This all comes about because people were fooled into thinking democracy is a good thing, it is not, democracy is another word meaning mob rule. Democracy was never mentioned in the Constitution, the Constitution was a Republic and it is no different than a corporate charter. Whereas Powers were limited, and those who could vote was restricted to the productive class.
Our system has been converted to this democracy where everybody can just vote for more free shit, ostensibly paid for by the government, which is by proxy paying for it through the productive class. This is of course not to say that we could not have government programs for some people in certain circumstances. But I think in order to receive those government programs they need to waive at least their first and Fourth amendment rights. Because if they can't support themselves they shouldn't be trusted with a gun, and if we the people are paying to support they should not have a constitutional protection from searches of their person or property, since themselves and their domicile is being funded by we the people, they shouldn't be able to receive free money to fund their domicile with search protections so that they can continue or carry out illicit activity. This makes perfect sense to me. If they want their constitutional rights back they can search supporting themselves.
And any person receiving government services should have to prepare a complete accounting each month, of how and where their money was spent, productive people have to prepare a tax return, non-productive people should also be held accountable to their spending if they are being supported by government.
Government contractors nor government employees should not be allowed to vote, since it's a conflict of interest. They should not have a say in increasing their pay nor benefits, that decision should be left up to the people of the private sector who are funding the government. If you and I worked at a car wash, it wouldn't work if we could vote on how much we got paid. It obviously doesn't work for government system either.
To put this in perspective let's say that you owned a large estate, with a staff to care for it, and you decided to move in a bunch of homeless people. Then everyone decides it should be run as a democracy, everyone has a vote and every vote counts equally. The homeless people decide that they should receive more money from you, more food more medical Care, and you're not allowed to search their bedrooms, drugs are against the rules, but as long as they can get away with it and hide it in the rooms you can't do anything about it. And the higher staff that works for you also votes themselves higher wages and benefits, and it's all of course paid for by you, everybody has an equal vote, but the burden of cost is not equal it's only paid for by you. I think that you could agree that that system would not work, and that is exactly the system we have now in our government democracy.
So there you have it, political parties won't fix anything, the system could be fixed by restricting voting to only the productive class. And the other problems would unwind themselves over time.
