We're hoping to get the 300 acre Badlands area accessible soon for at least small events, even casual weekends.
Think of it as test runs!
Wasteland Week Montana
Will be held at Silk Road a 300 acre area near the primary Oasis 33 Park. Silk Road is several miles long a lot more room to accommodate this type of event, a grassland and high desert with ravines and several dirt roads, well suited for a post-apocalyptic event, plenty of elbow room, be sure to bring a cruising vessel since walking wouldn't be practical. Vehicles, atvs, motorcycles maybe even a moped or a scooter.
Scheduling is dependent on road work and other projects.
We're hoping to get it accessible soon for at least small events, even casual weekends.
A themed post-apocalyptic event.
Dress code is anything from bondage outfits, Mad Max, togas, towels, lingerie, swimwear, casual and nude!
Wear whatever you would normally to a post-apocalyptic wasteland to scavenging food, fuel and mingle with other Road Warrior types.

A post-apocalyptic event is something we're working on as a future annual event. A Mad Max wasteland themed clothing optional weekend / week.
The wasteland week / weekend will be a fairly large event (based on the interest so far, and past events). We will hold this event at the larger 300 acre Silk Road project area. (The 33 acre primary retreat just won't be large enough). Silk Road area fits the wasteland theme better anyways. It's several miles long, winding through ravines, drainages, steep hills up to plateaus. The sagebrush grassland and cliffs make it ideal for a road warrior type event.
The Silk Road area will take a lot of work to make it accessible again, it's a road I cut decades ago to build and maintain the fence line, but much of it has washed out over time. Perhaps we'll have it ready enough for events by 2026.
The costume theme is optional, attire can be anything from casual, to nude, or toga, swimwear, your favorite BDSM outfit, or build your own Road Warrior type costume. The filming of the first Road Warrior was low budget, actors raided second hand and thrift stores for old hockey gear, leather and anything they could make to look post-apocalyptic. I would think pawn shops, yard sales and eBay would also be good costume sources. If you still have your '80s punk rock outfit with the spike dog collar, that would work too!
A mohawk, dog collar, and heels is also a fashionable option.
Bring your cruising vessel, high clearance is best, vehicle, atv, UTV, motorcycle. etc, it's a large area and walking just isn't practical. I suppose a mountain bike could work too.
Wasteland week will have its own domain:
But it will also be linked from our Oasis 33 website.

Here's a link to Wasteland Weekend in Southern California, it's the biggest Mad Max event I know of, I believe it has over 4,000 people, it would be a blast to go to!

The pictures may give some costume ideas and an idea of what we are shooting for here in Montana!
300 acres of Apocalyptic Doom!
Costume and clothing optional Event
And for casual Recreation in between the apocalyptic doom event.
4x4 and ATV trails
Adventure in the big wide open!
A large project currently underway!
It should be open to small-scale access soon, it still requires a lot of dirt work, and the improvements to the spring (channeled into a very small heated pool) (a man-made Hot springs if you will). 300 acres of elbow room to bring your four-wheel drive, ATV, or hike.
Future events; we are in wait and see mode.
We are proceeding cautiously before we plan any large events, America is in a fentanyl crisis (other dangerous drugs reaching crisis levels). Some organizations have even canceled events; we are anxious to see how other organizations are able to navigate these risks.
This summer the California desert will host two very large apocalyptic themed events, we are keeping our fingers crossed that everything goes well!
At this point, we are waiting to see how well event organizers can managed to navigate current risks and challenges.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch; we will continue with our construction projects and improvements.
